GANGSTABIGHOUSE RULES
At no point during the time you are playing should you ever get the idea that you can cheat and win. If we find out that you have been cheating, you will be banned from the game.
The fact that a particular behavior is not explicitly listed in these rules does not mean that such behavior is permitted under all circumstances. If the admins or mods ask you to stop doing something, then please stop, even if it is not explicitly covered below. Not following requests from admins is grounds for expulsion from the game.
TURN PURCHASES ARE FINAL --- NO RETURNS
1. Each person in allowed to have only one account, this means that you may not start additional accounts in order to get additional free turns. If you are running out of turns, buy turns. If we find out you are using multiple accounts, you will be banned. There will be ZERO TOLERANCE for multis. This includes supporters--if you are banned from the game for cheating there will be NO REFUNDS for previously purchased turns.
2. Sharing computers (aka MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS or MULTIS) is prohibited. Thus, we do not recommend you allow anyone to log on from your computer, or log into the game from a public location. If we see multiple account activity coming from the same IP address we cannot tell who was logged on so this might be treated as cheating with multiple accounts. You are responsible for anything you do using your IP address, so remember that if you allow someone else to use your computer to play. If you break the rules, we cannot know it was someone else, so you would be banned permanently.
3. Use of any programs or proxies that can mask the fact that you are using multiple accounts will be considered BY ITSELF proof of cheating and grounds for immediate banning, even if you only have one account. Don't do it.
4. If you have 2 people in your household (spouses, siblings, etc.) that want to play the game, they must follow the following rules or the accounts will be banned:
- You must ask for prior permission from admins
- Each person must use a separate computer
- Maximum of 2 people per household (this include work sites, schools, etc.)
- Accounts must be active throughout the round. Having one account simply collect and transfer (or give out an easy revenge) to the other will be considered abusive and be grounds for termination -- admins will have final discretion to determine what is acceptable. If in doubt, ask first.
5. Use of any outside programs, hacks, or other means to alter the effects of the game is considered a serious offense and grounds for banning, in addition to reporting to legal authorities.
6. If you would like to quit for a round, simply stop playing until the next round. DO NOT ADVERTISE in the boards that you have resources available for stealing, etc. This is considered leaking and is a violation subject to account banning.
7. Abuse of the game message system to advertise other games or websites is considered spamming and is prohibited.
8. Use common sense when posting in the public boards. NO PROFANITY, OBSCENITY, OR RACIAL COMMENTS. Use your own discretion in gang boards, but keep in mind that all postings and messages are subject to inspection by moderators or administrators at any time.
9. This game is a fantasy about criminal life and behaviors--as such, threatening or abusive language is appropriate WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF THE GAME. Telling someone that you will wipe out their operatives and their gang is part of the game, sending a message telling another player that you know where he lives and will harm them for real is a serious offense, subject to banning and real-world prosecution.
10. Use good judgement in the selection of game and gang names -- names that are blatantly offensive, with derogatory or obscene content are not allowed. This also applies to multimedia content in your personal or gang profile. Do not post / link to explicit nudity or pornographic images for your media.
11. Do not sent, within or outside of the game, links that are meant to circumvent the site's security control or hack the game in any way. We also recommend you do not paste links from the game into your browser or click on any links you are not familiar with while signed onto the game.
12. Coordination of game strategy, attacks, etc. within as well as outside your gang is permitted and encouraged. Please use the recruiting board (not the public chat board) for any game requests.
13. Impersonating or pretending to be admin or moderators is strictly prohibited. This includes telling other players you are admin via private messages, or using players and/or gang names, icons, or media that resemble or are equal to the admins in order to confuse other players. This violation is grounds for immediate banning.
14. Posting of full copied attack logs in public chat is considered bad form and annoying. You are allowed to post a small snippet, no longer than a couple of lines.
15. Please respect others' privacy. Do not reveal any personal information you might know about other players. This includes posting or sending to other players via private messages real pictures, names, addresses, links, or anything else that is related to a player's real identity. It doesn't matter if that player has purposely or inadvertently revealed information about themselves in the past. Just because they decided to post their own picture or somehow you got into their photobucket account, does not give you the right to disseminate any private information.
15. Rules are subject to change, you are responsible for checking the rules and keeping up to date. Also the interpretation of all rules is at the discretion of the admins. The admins decisions on all matters regarding the rules or behavior within this site is final.
